hi... i just received my approval for h1-b visa..and its valid starting 10/1/09.i am here in the united states with an f1 status. do i need to go back to my home country for stamping? also my wife and baby is in my home country.. can they apply for the h4 visa before i can start working on 10/01/09? or do they have to wait till i start with my job? lastly, can i go home before october and will it not affect my visa status?? looking forward for some answers... thank you!

You don't have to get stamping assuming your H1 petition was COS. (I-94 attached with approval)
If your wife and child did not apply for COS along with your petition, they need to do so before October 1. (application has to reach USCIS)
You can travel but to return you will need to get H1 visa.This is my opinion and not legal advice. -
thanks for the info..i read that they need my bank statements and some pay slips..but i still cannot provide until i start working.. can you pls advise? they did not apply because they are still in my home country.. and they do not have a visa yet..Comment
