Attend H1 iNTERVIEW

Right now I am working in US on H1B.My wife is currently holding H4 visa(now she is in india).My wife H1 is approved in 2008. Is possible for her to come to usa on existing h4 and work on h1 approval or she need to attend h1 interview before coming here....
