H1B - long leave to India

Hi,

My friend is currently in US on H1b (valid visa stamping till Sep 2011). He has his I140 approved and is waiting for the date to become current...Meanwhile he is planning to go to India for 6 - 8 months. His questions is

1) Will he have any problems re-entering US after 6-8 months?
2) He is taking leave from his current employer (Loss of pay), will he be paying any taxes in US?
3) Will it affect his Green card application status?
4) If he is missing any important things?
