On H1-B in a startup like company, can i invest in it too

I am on a concurrent h1B with a young IT company working part-time.
Can i also invest my own money in that company to provide is some short term capital to expand and hire other people.

Or will that be violation of any h1-B rules

You can invest without having any power in what that company does or in it's day to day operations.

You can collect profits and returns on your investment but should not even have a signing authority or hold any kind of administrative position in running the company other than what your H1b job describes.
