H1B vacation

I am on F1 and my OPT completed on June25. My H1B is approved for OCT2009 and currently I am on cap gap protection. My husband is on H1B working currently. Now I am pregnant and expecting a child in mid OCT.
1. Can I go on maternity leave from OCT 1 without pay?
2. How long can I do that?
3. If I do not have good health after that and need to take sick leave or vacation without pay can I do that?
4. How long can I do that?

Change to H4 to avoid falling out of status. Long leave or vacation is not a good solution for your case.
