H1 extn and transfer

All,

My h1 visa is expiring Sep 30th 09 from company A and filed for extension. Company B just filed for my H1 transfer.

What happens if my current H1 extension gets denied and still the transfer is pending/progressing ?

Am i out of status then ? or i have 240 days period as my H1 transfer is pending ?

What are the options ?

If extension gets denied, you have to stop working immediately for that company if your I-94 has expired. To maintain your status and H1b portability, you can begin working for the new employer as long as the petition was filed before the I-94 expired.
