Delay or Postpone H-1b and continue on OPT

I really appreciate you answer for the following issue.

I am working for my current employer on my OPT valid till Feb next year. But I have H-1b approval for another employer that will come into effect on October 1st this year. Can I postpone or delay the effective date of my H-1B and continue working on OPT till February next year.
