H1B stamping query

Hi Guys,

I'm ravi from chennai. My petition was approved by USCIS in may 2008, however due to recession and fearing a rejection at the consulate, the petitioner(company) had asked me not to apply for a VISA stamping till the economy had improved . Now that the situation has turned better the company wants to take me in and can provide me with a latest offer letter as well.

Would it be best to go in for a stamping now or later?

As my petition was FY 2008, how long does the petition stand valid without a stamping?

If your employer is a strong employer like a genuine organization than any of our shady Consulting companies who give a hard time and don't have clients then you should be fine. If you work for a consulting firm, then it is good to have client details.
