H1 and I797 form question

Hi everyone,

I'm currently on H1 visa and visa is stamped on my passport.

I had to come to India urgently and I didn't bring my I797 form along with me.

One of my friend said that I would have trouble entering the US back if I don't have the I797 form with me.

Do you guys think I need to have my I797 form with me or I can travel back to US since I already got the visa stamped?

Please share your experience cause this is making me nervous.

You need the I-797 form, be safe than sorry at the PoE.

Even a copy of the I797 form will do if you have a visa for the employer.
