H1B validity

Hi i have couple of queires
1. i travelled to usa for one year - 2008-2009 and my visa and petition period are oct 2006 to sep 2009. if i dont travel before end of sep what will happed to my rest of 2 years validity in the visa/petition. can i use in my next time.

2. if at all i didnt utilize the visa - will all 3 years waste?

---- After completion of the validity period you are no longer on a job in the US unless you renew your H1. If you are outside the US, then you need to get a H1 visa by showing the new H1 petiton and only then enter US. However, you can claim the rest of the 2 years anytime you want

---- If you do not work or go to the US on the existing visa it is your loss. NO one else is responsible. It is your job tha you have to perform in the US
