Help reg 221g - white form at Hyd consulate

Hi..

I attended H1 visa interview yesterday at Hyd consulate... it went fine but at the end he gave me 221g white form and asked me to send the details in that form through e-mail. He kept my passport and original 797 petition. Anyone of you faced this type of situation? How much time will it take to process? any idea?

Hi Raj,

My wife had the same experience in Hyd for H1B stamping and was asked to email the documents listed in the white 221g. She was told that it would take 2 weeks to process after they receive the email.

Are you currently working in the US?

Thanks for your reply... I was on L1 till Sep 5th(In US, currently in India and applied for H1.

In the 221G form, they asked me to send using Text only (*.txt). what is that mean, need to write all details in mail or need to write the answers in notepad and attach? Please help

This is what we did - we typed the answers in text format in the email and attached other necessary documents (like resume) as a .txt file. For the invitation letter - we scanned and attached it as a pdf.
