221g Green form@New Delhi Consulate

I have been issued a 221g Green form at New Delhi Consulate. This is my first visa stamping experience. He ticked on all the check boxes.End client letter, internal project description, submit client letter, wage reports, w2 forms, notarized list of employees.
My employer has told me not worry and said they will give me all the required documents. I want to know if my employer gives me the required documents and we submit them in 8-10 days. How much time on an average does it takes for the US Consulate to process the case at their end?
My visa stamping is already delayed I was supposed to get it done last year(recession.... _. Now this additional delay is happening. Please advice and share your experiences with me.

1 YEAR 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!
It took you that much time after submitting the papers?
What is the average time it takes after submitting papers??

If u submit your papers which they asked for in 221 g form as of TODAY,,,safely speaking 2-3 weeks MAX.
It can be early too in some cases.
VERY difficuly question to answer,,,
But I feel that they have streamlined their process now and they ACT fast now.
HOPE FOR THE BEST but have TOns of PATIENCE.
Anything can happen anytime.

Thank You! for your guidance mate. It's good to see that you are still on the forum and helping others you have not deserted us once your approval went through.
I have decided to party for a few days I was quite stressed because of this visa thing for a few days even though everything was genuine for me, but still it was first time stamping for me so quite stressful.....
I am just enjoying now with my friends with lots of booze . I will be monitoring that my company sends me each and every document as stated in the green form. Wish me luck!!!!

I got 221g green from Delhi and submitted my documents Aug 26th and still waiting... no word from the consulate yet.

It will be 3 months this 26th, I hope it is worth the wait eventually....good luck to all those in similar shoes.

I went for H1 Visa stamping at Delhi on 15th Dec 09. I was issued 221g green form. I submitted all the documents on 23rd Dec 09. Its more then a month and I have no updates......they are saying that my case is pending officers review.

- My husband is on H1 at USA. Is it advisable to apply for H4 visa so that I can join my husband ?
- Do I have to withdraw my 221g case for applying for H4 visa ?

Successful H4 Stamping

My 221g case for H1B is still pending. I got my H4 stamping done and I am back in USA. Is it advisable to withdraw the 221g case in case I plan to file for a new H1 petition ?

Petition and visa are two different things. You don't need to withdraw the visa application just because you are applying for a new H1B petition. But if you believe the visa (under 221g) would get rejected, then it is advisable to withdraw it.

My wife also got 221g grren form from Delhi Consulate last month on 02/19. She submitted all documents on 03/05 but there is no response yet. I am thinking for her to go for H4 stamping. Can you please share ur experience in detail when u went for H4 stamping? Didn't they ask u about ur pending H1 visa application? what happened to your work?

Can i go to interview on New Petition without withdrawing my old petition?

I went to VISA on employer A in July. I got 221g asking lot of documents from my employer and he do not want to submit the documents and asked me to find a new employer.

I have found a new employer and Once he files for my H1. Do I need to withdraw the 221g case with my old employer to go to VISA? Will the VISA officers or anyone when I filed for my H1 will know that there is a case pending??

Please let me know what is the best answer.

If the employer is not ready to provide you the required documents, then you should withdraw the visa application so that it doesn't end-up getting rejected.

Ofcourse the VO will know that you have a pending case.

How to withdraw 221g case-chennai

Hi,

My current employer is not ready to give all the documents for the 221g case which I have got for my first VISA interview for H1. I am planning to transfer my H1 to another company and after that I think I need to withdraw my earlier case and must go to VISA interview again with new company.

How to withdraw 221g case- from chennai consulate and what must be the reason while withdrawing. Please let me know.
