H1B-"Cancelled without prejudice"

Hi,I had H1b visa stamped in September 2008 and valid until September 2011 through company ZZZ.I never travelled to US on this H1B visa. After that company YYY has applied for L1A visa for me and my H1b visa was cancelled by US Consulate saying "Cancelled without Prejudice". Now, my question is:

1)after coming to USA on L1A visa through company YYY, if I want to join company YYYY using their H1B petition, Can I do that? Is that petition still valid?
2) Can I join company YYYY without leaving USA and without stamping?

If you want to do it from the US, you will need to apply for change of status to H1 and get it approved, only after the approval you can join the H1 employer.
