Revoking H1

I applied for H1 in 2008 through a consulting company, and it was approved. But the consulting company did not hand me I-797 or any papers for that matter. Now i am planning to apply for H1 through another company. Can i revoke/reuse the same old H1?

You cannot revoke/reuse the H1B petition of one company to work for another.
