H-1 Petition number is missing USCIS DB

Hi,

My friend recently went for stamping , but the consul said they does not find the H-1 petition number in their system.
How could it be possible ? any one has the same issue ? how long it will take to get the passport ? plz suggest.

This is not unusual. Search the immihelp for posts related to "PIMS". Sometimes it will take time for the petition information to get to the PIMS database. The usual wait time is anywhere between 2-3 weeks.

PIMS verification wait is hardly 2-3 days, not weeks.
