H1B extension
hi ,
This is first term on h1b , petition & visa both expired on sept 09 .filed for an extn in june 2009 , received a receipt within a weeks time . in july the case was transfered to local uscis field office for processing . the status shows "initial review" . even today after 6 months from the time of receipt ,the status has not changed .neither have the uscis asked for any RFE . there has been absolutely no updates .please provide your thoughts on how do I approach this case .Is there anything -anybody we can contact in field office who can provide some additional useful information on this case ?.
Also i need to travel urgently to my home country .what will happen to my extn if I do so ? will my extn be considered or run into any troubles?how long do i keep waiting .
can i apply for a fresh H1 through same or different employer .can I have this h1 xfered ?
