i have H1B approve latter but wants to appear for visitor visa (b2)

i got I 797 (H1B approve latter) in year 2008 lottery ,i am not appear for visa stamping procedure till date due to recession ,i want to attend family function in usa . can i appear for Visitor Visa (B2) is it affect at the time of H1b visa interview if i did`t get visitor visa ?

You can appear for B1. It will not cause any issues for your future H1B stamping.

Prove strongly that you'll return to india

Dear,

It is unlikely to get visiting visa as it happened in my case but it is possible provided you show your current job leave approval letter from HR and IT statements and prove that you'll return back to india.
