      4 weeks and counting...

Mukhtar: I applied at the Delhi embassy. Have you heard from them?

It's been only 4 weeks in my case and judging by others experiences I am patiently waiting.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

        Background check...

        Gogo ,

Dont worry. You should get through. Recently a friend of mine who had a serious offence like a DUI record on him got through his background check within 6 weeks. However he was told to show US law document which stated the maximum punishment for his offence. This friend printed some documents off the web regarding hte law and got through with the stamping. In your case your case was also dropped so you should not have much problems.IF you do not have a latino or a Muslim name you should be fine.

Here's another piece of information. THis might be helpful to all who are in this position. The pointer shows what kind of checks are being conducted and there is also a contact no. to call if your case does not get validated within 100 working days. Has any lawfirm or individual got any experience in speaking on the helpline mentioned in the pointer. Please share your experiences.

Meanwhile my wait has been 75 working days from the time I was fingerprinted. That is 15 weeks.

        Mukthar

          Guys,

Apparently next generation of the victims has arrived. I don't have any criminal, DUI or police record that I know of. My only fault is that my parents were not as imaginative as they should have been while giving me a name (Kroor Singh might have been better in this case).

It is my sixth week of waiting and no news from US Embassy. Apparently one of the clearances has come and they are waiting for other.

I personally know two more guys in this situation currently. Anyone else??

          Thanks,
Amit Gupta (this name has always caused identity crisis ever since I entered school :-( )
