H-1B visa-holders being deported from port of landing

I recently saw this article on rediff..H-1B visa-holders being deported from port of landing -

Do we have any idea about how true these are and what pre-caution should we take? Like I am based out of boston, is it unwise to take flight from India which has a stop over for a flight change at JFK?

And does this apply to L1 visa holders as well?

Iam in scheduled to fly back to US next week. So bit tense on the situation is at POE.
Any insights will be really helpful.
