If my visa expires on Dec 30, can I enter on Dec 29?

I am still waiting for my extension to arrive. It should have come already. Say in worse case I dont get my extension before travel and I reenter the country on 29th december, a day before the date of my staped visa in passport. Can I enter or will that be some kind of problem ???

What do you suggest, should I cancel my travel plans? Will they allow me in?

You can enter any time before your visa stamp in passport expires, even on last day.
