    Dear Senior Memebers,
    Greetings!!

Recently 6 months back, I changed my status from L1B to H1b and working for reputed Employer in US.
Last week I came to India to attend family wedding and I attended visa interview on 12 feb to get the stamping at Kolkata Consulate, but unfortunately the consulate gave me pink form(221G) and mentioned my application require administrative varification.
I remember, the consulate people asked for I-129 but i did not had one. I had I-797 and Employer varification letter as per the list of documents required mentioned in the interview guidelines.
Though my wife got H4 visa and should receive the passport anytime. Also my 8 months old son is US citizen.

Please let me know how serious is the matter and how long it will take to complete the varification. They have kept my passport and informed me that it may take 1-2 weeks to months.
I am really scared as i have limited vacation and my employer would not wait for me long enough.
Please suggest me what should i do? Should I contact my Immigration attorney and Employer?
What went wrong here inspite i worked already for 6 months.

    Kindly advice me...

This could be general administrative processing. Many people go through this every day. Search for administrative processing in the forum and read about it. Every case is different. It is impossible to predict the time frame. But nowadays they are completing the admin processing quickly. Your employer or their attorney would be of no help unless the VO has requested any additional documents from you in the 221G form. Wait patiently and things will work out.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
