Hi,
I am working with an H1B employer in US on a valid H1B visa. I plan to quit my job later this year to pursue my studies. I plan to go back to my home country and apply for the student visa.
In such a case, I understand that the day I resign I will be out-of-status and will be expected to leave the country. Is my employer obliged to provide for my air fare back to my home country or is that applicable only if the employer initiates the termination on my contract?
I am on very good terms with my current employer and can work for as long as I want to. Leaving my job will be a voluntary decision in my case since I am going to pursue higher studies.
Thanks in advance for your replies!
