Iam on h1. I earned some money through online surveys(Joined 2 survey panels). is it illigal? if not how much I can earn per year from each survey panel with out undergoing tax rules?

You need work authorization to do that. It is plain illegal in H1B. Don't get into trouble for just $20 - $30 a month.

Technically YES. Because they are not actual gifts. They are for the work that you do. However there are loop holes everywhere. This forum is not to give people advise on how to break the immigration laws.
