  • CEAC: Dependents (H4) shows Issued, Primary (H1B) shows Administrative Processing

    Hello,

I have been in the US for 7+ years, I-140 approved.

I attended my visa interview on May 29th (OFC) and May 30th (Consulate) with my Family (H1B/H4) at Hyd consulate. During the consular interview, VO questioned me about a court case that lead to my arrest in 2004 (please note I have been declaring this in every consular visit and also submitted judgement copies during my previous consulate visits - case filed against me had been acquitted/dismissed and I did not plead guilty)

However, even in this visit I declared the same and VO questioned regarding the same (after my Employment related questions are asked) and asked if I had judgement copy of that. Luckily I had one more copy which I submitted immediately. VO handed me a 221G white slip and said they don’t need any additional documents from me, and that she needs an hour to review the judgement copy which she said she could try to complete in a day and kept the passports with her.

I checked in CEAC website after a few hours on May 30th and all 4 applications (H1B & 3 H4s) showed in “administrative processing”.

After a day, this afternoon (05/31) - all 3 H4s shows issued with date updated as 05/31.
However, H1B still shows in Administrative Processing with date updated as 05/30.

    Question (s):

Is it normal to have the H1B and H4,s treated separate?
Can the H4 travel without H1B (as Visa is stamped) to the US?
Based on your experience, do you consider my position concerning?

Appreciate your inputs, thanks in advance.

    regards,
    J
