H1B transfer approved but extension denied.

Hello All,

I am currently working as a consultant for my employer, say company A.
I hold H1B visa under Company A, which is valid till April 2020 i.e. 10 more months from now.

My client, say Company B, applied for a visa transfer to hire me as a full time employee.
While the transfer was in process, I had to leave the country for a week.
Because of which,
- I got approval notice i.e. I-797C till 2022
- and a letter saying that my extension is denied, because I was not physically present in the country, which is correct.
- My I-797C does not have I-94 attached to it.

What are my options.

- Please note, I still hold valid visa from my employer, i.e. Company A.
- Should I get my I-94 extension renewed by going to Mexico or Canada.
- If I do that then what are the chances.

Any kind of suggestion or idea will be beneficial.

I think yes since your transfer is approved you can travel out of US and enter back and get your I94 updated. I did the same thing as my visa was valid upto xx time but my passport was expiring earlier to that so while entering us port of entry officer added the same date on my visa and i had to visit canada to get my I94 renewed.
