Hi,
Currently I am on F1 OPT and my employer has applied H1B for and I accepted in the lottery. My employer have filed H1B as Consular Processing (due to need of export license approval which may not be ready on Oct 1st) and want to file a petition to convert form Consular Processing to Change of Status after export license approval. My question is that if I file I-485 before converting from Consular Processing to Change of Status, how it would affect this conversion (even if I don't file I-485 I cannot go out of US for consular processing) ? Usually how long does it take to convert form Consular Processing to Change of Status?
