H1b extenion beyond 6 years.

I will be completing my 6 yrs of h1b visa on 05/25/2011 . My company A had file for lc for gc during April 2009 which is atleast 365 days before I would complete my 6years of visa. However there is a new company B which is offering me a job now. Do I only have time till 05/25/2010 (365 days before 6 yr completion) before which my new company must transfer h1 and file for lc so that I qualify for extention beyond 6 years. My new company can transfer h1 quickly but will not be able to apply for lc before 05/25/2010 . Is there any risk in tranferring to company B now because I might not be able to extend beyond 6 years? If not now then please state at what point in gc application stage would i be able to transfer to new company B without any problems.

If your LC is not filed before 05/25/2010, you can not extend your H1 beyond 6 years.
