H1B expired filed for extension & H4 is out of USA

Hi everyone,

My H1 is expired and applied for extension, and my family also got their H4 but they are in India now.

My question is, should I wait till my extension gets approved to bring them here or they can travel to the States with my extension receipt.

I'm totally confused on this.. can someone help me here !!
