Getting Green Card thru H1?

PLEASE HELP! I have a BA and am currently on OPT. If I apply for a Green Card through a H1B visa, how soon will I be eligible to apply? Could I apply for one at the same time applying for H1, or right after I received H1 or do I have to have a few years of working experience at the sponsoring company before applying for a Green Card? I dont know how it works.

Secondly, if I apply for a Green Card through my job, how long does it usually take to get me a Green Card? And will that Green Card be a temporary or a parmanent one?

you shd be able to apply for the green card as soon as your h-1 is approved or even while filing the h-1 application- consult a good lawyer. once approved your green card shd be permanent. good luck.
