H1B visa renewal stamping in London US embassy without I797

This is my first H1B renewal with my current employer, I have received the i797- approval courtesy email as sent by USCIS, However, I haven’t received the hard copy/scanned copy yet. Can I go for visa interview with the email approval as the consulate can anyway pull the record with the approval notice number available in the email? I would really appreciate some help here.
