About stay extension

Hi experts,

1)My six year period in US is going to end by next year jan(i.e jan 2011). I got just my labor. so can I extend my stay in US with my approved labor?
or do need to get approved I140 too?
2)I have another question What happens if I get my I140 approval after 6 years?
