Need Help on H4 to F1

Hi all,

My H4 Visa will expire in a month from now. I'm applying for H4 to F1 visa in a couple of days.
If the change doesn't happen in a month's time, will I be out of status? or is my status legal, since I would have already applied for status change? Can you please advise?Appreciate you help!!

If the COS to F1 gets approved, then you have no issues. If the COS gets denied, then the time between your current I-94 expiry and the date on which you leave the country will be treated as illegal stay.
