L1 to H1 question

Right now I am in L1A for company A. I am planning to apply for H1 COS with Company B through premium processing.My L1A is valid till Oct-2011 Here are my questions
1) what is the normal processing time for L1-H1 COS for premium processing
2) Say If my COS gets denied, can I continue to stay till Oct-2011 on my L1A with comapny A?

After I receive L1-H1 COS approved, can I still continue for 1 month with my L1 Employer to provide sufficient notice period for him?

No. After CoS, working on L1 is illegal.
