H1-b to get EAD.. pls help!

Hello all,

I am on an H1-b visa for a certain employer and I want to work for another company for part-time employment and still keep my h1b status. How do I apply for EAD or work permit? Do i need a lawyer to file this? And what do I need to do. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are you saying that you want to work for both the employers at the same time? Full time with the cuurrent employer and part time with the second? If yes, then the 2nd employer will need to file an H1B petition on your behalf as a CONCURRENT H1B and that should get approved.

If you want to quit the current employer and work for the second employer in part time, then the second employer will need to file an H1B transfer mentioning that the hours you will be working per day (part time).
