L1 to H1 transfer

I am currently in the US on an L1 visa. Is it possible for me to swich to H1 without going back to my home country (India).

You can switch to H1 status and start working.

However, if you go out of US, you need to get H1 stamped in passport before coming back to US.

Have one more doubt, should I get a No objection certificate or relieving order
from my current employer for my status change from L1 to H1.
