Sponser leter to UK student from US

I am in US, Can some one tell me, Can I sponser my brother-in-law who is intended to study in UK? If so what was the porcedure, where can I get the format of the sponser letter, what are the documents do I need to submit with the sponser letter. Please let me know asap.
