H1B expiring Sept 2010 - Options ?

Hi,

My employer filed for an H1B for me in Sept 2007. I have never been to the USA till date. The visa and petition both expire on 28th Sept 2010.

Now I have an offer from the same employer. Can I travel to the US for wotk on that H1B now ? How will I be able to extend it ?

Yes, you can travel on that H1 if you have visa in your passport.
Your employer will file for extn, which is just like fresh H1 except you need also current pay stubs.

I may not have any paystubs when filing for a renewal next month. Since it is already mid August I doubt if I will get a August paystub.

What happens in this case ?

Whatever you have you can submit.

You might have to submit client letter etc.

Will this require me to travel back to my home country for any procedures ?

No.
But if extn is denied, and petition is approved, you might have to go back to home country and reenter with a new visa.
