L1B/L2 to H1 conversion

Hi,

I wanted to know if it is possible to get an L1B or L2 to converted to H1 after going to the US?

Do employers usually do this and if so, can it be initiated right after going to US?

>>> Possible. If you already have an H1B, then a COS from L1 to H1B can be filed. If you don't have an H1B, then a fresh H1b petition will need to be filed by your employer, which can be done as long as the CAP remains open.

Can it be initiated right after going to US?
