H4 Visa- Name change of Minor son- Born in India

Hi,

I am planning to update my sons name (9Years) who has Indian Passport and is on approved H4 visa. Please suggest if I need to go for court proceedings as he is not born in USA. I have already updated his birth certificate. When I checked with SFO embassy they suggested to sign an affidavit and share news paper advertisement in India/USA.
We are in california.
Please help if anyone has updated their childs name who is india born and stays in US.

Hi,
Posting ad in News paper is the actual procedure for this... But if you have already got new Birth certificate with corrected one, you may proceed ahead with other supporting evidence.
