Ds 160 current employment

Hello all,
I am filling out DS-160 for my H1B stamping after I-140 approval. Need help in the section of the Current employment.
6 years of H1B expired on December 18th 2020, PERM was in process at time. Returned to India for family emergency on 1st Dec 2020.
Employer filed I-140 after PERM approval in Feb-2021, approved in March 2021 then filed H1B extension and got approved on May 3rd 2021.
As my employment was over in December 15th 2020 (technically) , I didn't join any other company in India and was just waiting to finish above paperwork.
In DS-160, one of the section is to fill current employment and I am not sure whether to write unemployed (technically which is current status) or write employed in USA with starting date sometime in June 2021?
H1B approval has starting date on March 1st 2021.
Please help asap.

Hi,
As per your scenario i think you will need to mention as Un Employed. Why because, your H1B clock will be started once you reach country and they start complete your On boarding process like I9 and E verification..
And also, If you have concern on I-140 that you got recent approval, It does not mean, you must Employed of concern Company.. GC can be sponsored Even if you are not Employed with concern company.. More over, GC is only future Employment.. So it can not be counted even if you get I-140 Approval..
