Still waiting for H4 receipt number?

My emplyerr had applied for COS from H1 to H4 in July end.
How long will it take to get the receipt number?

Usually two weeks or less.

I am still waiting for my receipt number.I did contact my employeer and he hasn't replied.Is there any other way to find the status?

I am sure your employer might have received it by this time.

I applied for my wife on june 26. Reached USCIS on June 29. We received the receipt in 2nd week of July.

As Shervin mentioned usually within 2 weeks you should get your receipt number. please folow-up with your employer and get the receipt number to know the status. Usually it take ~2.5 months to get the final decision from USCIS on COS.

Talked with my employeer and he still says that he hsn't got the receipt number yet.Even he is surprised.
Is there any way that I can contact USCIS and ask the receipt number?
