gap in passport validity - new passport issue date 2 weeks after old passport expiry

I am genuinely worried about my case -

My old passport's expiry date is July 29, 2021 I am not sure if my new passport will be renewed in time. if suppose my new passport's issue date is August 13, 2021, I will be living in the USA with an invalid passport for ~2 weeks.

Will this affect my H1b status?
For example- will I lose my status because I failed to maintain a valid passport?


(Please help with confirmed answers only, as I am extremely worried about this and am not able to find the exact info anywhere online.)

Could you please let me know, why it will be August 13, 2021? Just curious, If it is expiring July 29, 2021, you can apply it immediately with premium process right? Kindly tell the Answer for this. With that, we will help you to provide our Answer.

I am awaiting new residential address documents from India (house has been urgently sold). Hence, there will be a delay in applying from my side. I am estimating that I will send the application out by Aug 2 2021. Then, I have observed that even with TATKAAL passport re-issue service, its sometimes taking 2 weeks form the time you send the FedEx Packet out to VFS global. Hence I estimate that it will be renewed by Aug 13 (I am trying my best to send it out sooner!).

Now, can you tell me if such a gap between old passport expiry date and new passport issue date will affect my H1b visa status?

Answer: I don't think, it will impact your H1B status.. But, I suggest you to at least apply before your current passport expires.
