Change of status from B2 to H1b

Hello,

I was on H1b from Sep 2017 to Feb 2018, at which I moved back to India due to personal reasons. Now, I am thinking about moving back to the US. If I were to come to the US on a B2 visa and I am able to find an employer who is willing to sponsor for H1b, how long would I have to wait before starting work? Do I have to wait till the petition is approved or can I start working once the receipt is received? Typically, I would be able to stay in the US on a B2 visa for a maximum of 6 straight months, right?

Hi,
Traveling to the USA and seeking employment is not permissible under B2 visa.. Better you can find the job while you be in your home country, file the H1B petition, once you get approved then get visa stamped then travel to the USA.
purposefully travelling to USA for employment opportunity is not advisable.
