Does the time spent on L2 count towards H1B six year?

Hi,

I was on an L2 visa (dependent on my spouse's L1 visa) and was working on L2 EAD from 2016 before I got transferred to H1B early next year. So wanted to understand that the time spent on an L2 visa counts towards H1B time? my company has not started any process for the green cards yet so I think I am limited to a max of 6 years H1B.

Hi,
Period of L2 status you spent in the USA will not be counted for H1B status. So, Once you get H1B visa you can have full of six years in your account.
