H1B after getting H4

My wife's H4 renewal had been applied and we hadn't gotten the approval for nearly 8 months. Her employer suggested that we apply for H1B. Then the H4 (and ead) got approved. After this, she got her H1B too.

She's about to lose her job, which would make her out of status in the USA because of her H1B change of status.

What options do we have?
