Answer: Yes. GC holder can sponsor immigrant petition to unmarried son.
Please see below USCIS requirements on this.
You may petition for the following family members:

• Spouse (husband or wife)
• Unmarried children under 21
• Unmarried son or daughter of any age

But, I really could not able to understand the question you mentioned as unmarried son and his children
