Possibility of applying L1 in the sixth year of H1

Hi

I am in the sixth year of my H1 visa and I am working as a Full Time employee for an American company. Is there any possibility of converting my H1 to L1 now through my present employer so that I can extend my stay in USA for one more year.

L1 + H1B together is for 6 years. Also, L1 is for intra company transfer.

(Example: A company in India transferw an employee who has worked for them for 1 continuous year in India to work for their U.S division).

thank you Shervin for your reply. Our company recently started a branch in India and they are saying L1 is for 7 years.

L1B is for 5 years
L1A is for 7 years (Check the link below for eligibility criteria for L1A. This is for managers and people with higher designation.)
L1 + H1B togthere is for 6 years.
