H4 Extension with Company A while H1-B transfer to Company B

Hello,

I'm on H1-B currently working for Company A. I have an approved I-140 for company A. Recently my H1-B got extended with Company A until March 2025. Earlier H1-B validity is until March 2022. My dependent's H4 validity is until the same date ie March 2022. I'm yet to apply for H4 extension (based on my approved H1-B until March 2025). Now I'm planning to move to Company B in a month. H1-B transfer would be initiated in 2 to 3 weeks. Can I apply for H4 extension now for my dependents while I'm on Company A? or Is it recommended to apply for their extensions with Company B (along with my H1-B transfer petition). The reason I'm asking is Company A would be reimbursing the H4 extension filing amount while Company B would not.

Answer: Since the H4 validity is going to be another 3 months and you will be filing H1B transfer in another couple of weeks, It is better and safer side to file H4 Ext petition along with H1B transfer petition. So that, you dont want to get worry about H1B withdrawal concern that will happen by Company A.
