If the petition filed by company B gets approved, then you can no longer work for the L1 employer unless you leave the country and return back in L1 visa. Alternatively, you can work for Company B when their petition gets approved and later when the petition with Company C gets approved, you can quit Company B and join Company C. I don't see any other options apart from this.
    I understood what you mean,still I want to doublecheck following things.

    1> If I join CompanyB intially and move to CompanyC when their petition is approved Do I need to do H1 transfer at that point ?

    2> Say petition through CompanyC is approved earlier and I join CompanyC .Later companyB petition is approved,Will that create any issue to my H1 visa status ?

      >>> No. Approval petition for Company C means you can work for them.

      >>> No.

          Notice Period

          @Shervin

          I heard working with L1 employer beyond COS date is illegal.But at the same time I can't resign from my L1 employer until my H1B is approved.
          My question is whether there is any time gap between H1B approval date and COS date ? coz I can resign only after my H1 is approved and then also I have to serve the 15 days notice period with my Employer.After that I can join my new employer and that should be before COS date. So ideally H1B approval date + 15 days should be less than COS date.Just wanted to know how does this usually happen and how people manage this situation...

            There is no such grace period. Read this complete thread. It has all the answers to your question on L1 to H1B COS.

                Did you mean receipt from USCIS after filing H1B petition? usually within 1-2 weeks.

                  Query !!!!!

                  Hi Shervin,

                  Hope you are doing well.
                  As you know I am currently working on L1B in CompanyA.
                  CompanyB has applied my H1B in normal processing....&
                  CompanyC is going to apply my H1B in premium processing.

                  Now as you know I want to join CompanyC. In that case if I join CompanyC can CompanyB sue me for this or will be there any other problems ?

                  Plz advice.

                    Employment in U.S is at will basis. No one can sue you for not joining or resigning a company. If you have signed any specific documents with them, then it is advisable to consult an attorney.
