Can someone please explain, what does “active visa application” mean? I recently got to know that H1B visa holders can visit Canada for a short trip and return with an expired visa stamp provided they have their new H1B approval notice and no active visa application. In my case, I have an approval notice, however I was looking to book a visa appointment in Canada, so started my DS160 (not submitted, just started the form) and paid the fee in order to schedule the visa appointment slot 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254. Now I want to just visit and not go for the visa stamping. Please share whether my application be considered active here or not? Can I still travel on “automatic revalidation”? My husband is in Canada and there is a need to travel soon.
